Motorcyclist dies in Thomastown

A motorcyclist riding a stolen bike has died following a collision in Thomastown Saturday evening.

Police have been told the rider was travelling north on High Street when the collision occurred between the motorcyclist and a car turning right out of Westall Street just before 11.30pm.

The collision pushed the rider further into High Street where he was also struck by a car travelling south.

The unidentified male rider, believed aged in his 20s, died at the scene.

No one else was injured in the collision.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are at the scene and are investigating.

A 29-year-old woman from Wollert is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are investigating whether speed may have been a factor in the collision.
